In Loving Memory of

Nancy Jones Hitechew

November 18th, 1937 - June 6th, 2022

Obituary

Nancy Jones Hitechew of Sewickley, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on June 6, 2022, after a short illness. She was 84 years old. Nancy was born in Pittsburgh, and married her college sweetheart, Carl, in 1957. Together they raised four kids and created a loving, caring atmosphere at home. They believed in the value of working hard as a means to success and the importance of family. One tradition that Nancy and Carl started, and always looked forward to, was their annual family vacation to Hilton Head Island. Nancy had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was an avid reader and a fan of reality television shows. Nancy was a dog lover who over the years had too many dogs to count. She leaves behind her beloved dogs, Lucky, Annie, and Nova. Most of all, she loved her family and left a legacy of living by faith and unconditional love. Although she lost Carl at a relatively young age, she taught her family the lessons of being resilient and the power of a positive attitude. Her faith led her to hold many church positions over the years and a job, as the Spiritual Care Coordinator at Family Hospice for 10 years. This position was more than just a job for Nancy...it was her passion. She relished helping and caring for people receiving hospice care. Nancy was an active member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Sewickley. She treasured her Bible study and book club friends who were like family to her. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl. She is survived by four children, Gary Hitechew (Mary Anne), Carolyn Magnotti (Al), Susan Olsavsky (Brian) and Alison Cole; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and her brother, Robert Jones (Beth)
