Obituary
Pamela Spalding , age 58, of DeWitt, Michigan was born October 23, 1965 and passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024. Pamela was a beacon of light, her laughter and spirited nature had the remarkable ability to fill any room she entered, bringing joy and warmth to those around her. A true animal lover, Pamela's compassion extended beyond the bounds of human connection. Her dedication to the well-being of animals was unwavering, and she found solace and joy in the company of her furry companions. Whether caring for her own cherished pets or volunteering, Pamela's love for animals knew no bounds. Pamela's sudden departure has left a profound void in the lives of all who knew her. Although her time with us was tragically cut short, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Pamela is survived by her father Robert Spalding and his wife Arleen of Kentwood; brothers Robert (Lynn) Spalding, Jr. of Houghton Lake, Jon (Diane) Spalding of Portage and Tod Spalding of Vermontville; and extended family members Joseph (Laurie) Murray of Waukesha, WI and Susan Murray of Downers Grove, IL. She is also survived by her childhood and lifelong friend Kerry Steele (nee Michalek). Pamela was preceded in death by her mother Mary Jean "Midge" Haynes; step-father Ray Haynes; and grandparents Marshall (Norma) Spalding and Edward (Gwen) Freese. A celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. Interment will take place at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 4444 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, Michigan 48906.
