Rachel Danielle Siler

May 9th, 1985 - July 24th, 2024

Obituary

Rachel Siler, 39, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2024.  Rachel grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 2003.  
After graduation, Rachel moved to Chicago and pursued her dream of fashion and interior design, receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from the Academy of Design in 2007. She continued her studies on Aging and Disabilities Education & Research at the Boston University of School and Social Work. 
Rachel was a life-long advocate for people with disabilities. She worked for the  Access Living and Progress Center for Independent Living and also the Progress Center for Independent Living in Chicago. In 2016 Rachel moved to Miami where she was currently an Independent Living Advocate at the Center for Independent Living South Florida. 
Rachel leaves behind her parents, Jeff and Janice Siler; her brother and sister-in-law, Zackery and December Siler; her aunt, Alma Narmore Valentine and many loved cousins. She also leaves behind her cherished dogs, Willow, Pixie and Margot.
Rachel is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ralph and Letha Narmore and her uncles, David Valentine and Ralph Narmore.
Rachel was known for her passion for Audrey Hepburn and her love for 50’s - 60’s decor. She loved to read, play board games and spend time at the ocean. Her determination and confidence were unparalleled.  She will be missed by many. 
The family would like to express their gratitude to the many caregivers who have assisted Rachel through the years.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
