Obituary
Raymond J. Gaskey, 93, of Uniontown passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at home with his family by his side. He was born July 22, 1930, in Youngwood, Pa, son of the late Michael and Helen (Wadas) Gaskey. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son David J. Gaskey. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Dolores Gaskey, his daughters Terri Gaskins and Jane E. (Alan) Bearmore, both of Virginia Beach, VA, his grandchildren Zachary and Jessica Krohn, Justin Stieff, Chelsea Cadwell and William Bearmore; his great grandchildren Ella and William Cadwell and his sister Dorothy (late Thomas) Pavel of Carmichaels. Ray was a proud Korean War Veteran awarded the following medals of honor: Silver Star, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and C/I Badge. He was a retired Architectural Draftsman with Altman and Altman Co. and was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Church of Uniontown and a former member of the VFW Post 47 and the Honor Guard of the Faith-Gray- McCardle VFW Post 4549. Visitation at the Stephen R. Haky Funeral Home, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext. Uniontown on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Friday a Blessing Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 10:00 AM followed by Burial at Mt. St. Macrina Cemetery with Military Honors to be accorded.
