Obituary

Rebekah Lee Arab (Bekah), 26, passed away at her residence in San Diego, California on December 2, 2025. Rebekah was born January 4, 1999, in Ukiah, Ca. to Samuel, III and Kristina (Graham) Arab.

Bekah grew up in the Laytonville area, attending Laytonville High School where she was active in Basketball and Softball. Following high school, Bekah got married to Cody Miller and later separated.

In 2018 she enlisted in the US Navy.  Navy life took her to San Diego, Ca. where she served proudly and honorably on USS Princeton (CG59), departing underway in April of 2020, enduring an extended deployment during the global pandemic we've all come to know as COVID19.  Rebekah and her crewmates remained underway for over three-hundred days, the longest Navy deployment in over fifty years. While underway on the USS Princeton, the Navy-wide advancement exam results were announced; the flocking commenced, Rebekah advanced to the next rank of E4.  In 2024 Rebekah deployed underway on the USS Spruance (DDG111) to the Red Sea where their ship, paired with the USS Stockdale successfully fended off at least eight one-way attack uncrewed arial systems, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles launched from inside Houthi-controlled Yemen.

Rebekah furthered her career, reaching the rank of Petty Officer, 2nd Class, E5; she was scheduled to conclude her military services early in 2026. Special recognitions include National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter 9mm Pistol, Good Conduct Medal Active, GW Terrorism Expeditionary, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, GW Terrorism Service Medal, and Combat Action Ribbon.

She never bore any children however she did have an overwhelming love for her fur babies, the late Mishay and her recently adopted Ares Aionia Agapi (Eternal Love). Bekah loved caring for her dogs, taking them to the dog parks and spending time with friends at the beaches or rivers.  She also enjoyed traveling, four-wheeling, camping, hiking, and spending time with family.
