Obituary
Reva Joy Gupton was born on September 19, 1938, and passed away on October 21, 2025, peacefully at her home.
Reva lived a life filled with warmth, creativity, and care for others. The oldest of eleven children, she learned early what it meant to nurture, guide, and give. Many of her younger siblings spent summers at her home, where she’d lovingly sewed them new clothes and made sure, they felt right at home. That tradition continued with the next generation of nieces and nephews. Her hands were always busy sewing, crafting, gardening, but her heart was always open.
On September 21, 1956, Reva married her lifelong partner, Melvin. Together they raised three boys, and Reva devoted herself to creating a home full of love, laughter, and good food. She took great pride in being a homemaker—making every holiday special, cooking everyone’s favorite dishes, and ensuring no one ever left her table hungry. Family was at the center of her world.
Reva’s joy only grew when she became a grandmother. She adored her three grandchildren and was one of their biggest cheerleaders, attending every event and celebrating every accomplishment. She was so proud of each of them.
After Melvin retired, the two enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Arizona with friends and family. Reva loved meeting new people, exploring new places, and soaking up the sunshine.
Reva had a special way of making others feel loved and cared for. Her kindness, her steady presence, and her deep love for her family will never be forgotten. Those who knew her will remember her laughter, her creativity, and the comfort of her warm hugs.
Reva is survived by her loving husband, Melvin Gupton of Boring, Oregon; son Brent Gupton of Sandy; and son Steve & Dawn Gupton of Sandy. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren Hannah Gupton, Aaron Gupton, and Ryan Gupton, all of Sandy, Oregon.
She is also survived by her siblings: Neva Finell of Roseburg; Linda Chambers of Roseburg; Zelma & Jerry Beard of Roseburg; Regina & Dave McMaster of Oakland; Brad & Kathy Watson of Sutherland; Rocky & Ginna Watson of Roseburg; Clay & Lorrie Watson of Roseburg; and Georgia & Mark Isaacson of Drain, Oregon. She is also cherished by many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Reva was preceded in death by her beloved son Mark Gupton of Boring; her parents George and Lillian (Shunn) Watson of Roseburg; and her brothers Robbie Watson of Roseburg and William (Bill) Watson of Sandy, Oregon
