Obituary

Rita J. Cassell died peacefully on September 30th, 2022. She was 95 years old and a resident of Waters Edge Village. Her family is grateful to ALL the staff for the care she received during the sunset of her life.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Sebastian, Sons Kevin and Mitch Cassell, 6 grandchildren, 4 nieces, 2 nephews, and several great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Esther Coburn, her beloved grandmother Marie Colton, her brothers Bill and Jim Coburn, her daughter Leslie Blair, her son Kelly Cassell, and grandsons Keegan Cassell, Cohn Cassell, and Jesse Sebastian.
Rita began retouching negatives for Prestige Portraits and fell in love with it naturally. She worked there for many years. She grew up surrounded by creative independent women. After her retirement she started her own business, Glass Act. There she designed and crafted beautiful stained glass art for her community.
In her prime, she regaled her adventures in Europe, always in the company of friends. It was among the most cherished personal experiences of her life. The most important thing to her was the immeasurable love she had for her family. She was feisty, creative, and a bit stubborn, though loved by all who shared her company.
