Obituary
Roger William Hankins, 59, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away at his home after a hard-fought battle with cancer on January 23, 2024. He was born to William and Theresa Hankins in Lansing, Michigan, on August 18, 1964. Roger, also lovingly referred to as ¨Rog¨ and ¨Hank¨, graduated from Grand Ledge High School and went on to become a general contractor. He was a man of many passions and enjoyed indulging his adventurous spirit through wakeboarding and snowboarding. Roger also could not pass up a leisurely round of golf when the opportunity arose, or cheering on his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings. Those that were lucky enough to know Roger were witness to his tremendous love of people and that he took great joy in making others laugh, especially by making lighthearted jokes and goofing around. He could always put those around him at ease with his big smile and the amazing hugs he would give. Most importantly, Roger had a profound love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is blessed to go to his forever home in Heaven. T
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Pamela; children, Zachary, Valoree, and Jacob Hankins; grandchildren, Isaiah, Skylyn, and Maiya Hankins; mother, Theresa Hankins, and siblings, Brenda and Douglas (Cindy) Hankins,. He is preceded in death by his father, William Hankins.
A Funeral Service honoring Roger´s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Rivers Edge Community Church located at 12406 Broadbent Road, Lansing, MI 48917, with Pastor Deanne Moore officiating. A visitation will take place at the church on Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service. Roger will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 4444 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906.
