Obituary

Ronald “Dee” Anderson, 86, of Muncie, IN peacefully passed away Tuesday, May 7th, 2024, surrounded by his loving and devoted family.  He was born January 23, 1938, to the late Dewey and Alice Anderson in Grimsley, TN. Dee graduated from Clarkrange High School in 1959 and relocated to Muncie, IN in 1960 to work at Borg Warner for 32 years, retiring in 1992.  Dee married Mary Jo Taylor in 1962 and remained married for 49 years before she proceeded him in death 2011.  Dee and Mary Jo lived in the Albany and Muncie area while raising their family.  Dee was a “jack of all trades” he could work on and fix just about anything.  He enjoyed working in the yard and tinkering around on anything in his barn.  He loved helping his family, friends, and neighbors with anything he could.  Dee was also an avid camper spending many summers with his wife Mary Jo camping at Kamp Modoc.  Dee also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s various sporting events and school functions throughout the years.
Dee is survived by his children, Michael Anderson (wife Angela) of Muncie, IN; daughter Paula Stewart (husband Tom) of Greenfield, IN; grandchildren Austin Anderson (wife Alexandra) of Fishers, IN; Jesse Anderson (wife Hayley) of Muncie, IN; Kaylee and Chase Stewart of Greenfield, IN and seven great grandchildren; Keeley, Tenley, Daisey, Remy, Phoenix, Julian, and Gwen; brother Fred Anderson of Albany; sister in-laws Sylvia Webb and Pat Green; special Aunt Ilean Helton; niece Valarie Tackett (husband Troy); nephew Kevin Anderson (wife Rachel) and many other extended family members.  Dee was proceeded in death by his wife Mary Jo, sister in-laws Vetta Anderson, Connie Sisco, Margaret Burgess, Anna Atkinson, and brother in-law Rodney Atkinson.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 from 11am-1:00pm at Garden View Funeral Home. The service will begin at 1:00pm with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. The burial will take place at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery.  Ronald “Dee” Anderson will be greatly missed by his entire family, but we will find peace in knowing that he is reunited with his loving wife of 49 years, Mary Jo and that he’ll continue to look down on us and bless us with his caring and endearing spirit.
