Obituary

Scott Mitzel, 70, passed away peacefully in his home in Molalla, Oregon, surrounded by loved ones on January 13, 2026.

He was born and raised in Yakima, Washington, and graduated from Carroll High School in 1973. Upon graduation, he worked several jobs before becoming an ironworker.

He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing softball in his younger years.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents Frank A. and Delores Mitzel; brother Fred; and son Matt.

He is survived by his wife Debra Mitzel and loyal companion Cooper; brother Tony (Marilyn) Mitzel; sister Wendy (Don) Wammock; grandson’s Channing and Meritt Mitzel; and several nieces and nephews.

Private committal by family.
