Obituary

Williamsport, Pa. — Stacy L. Sweeting passed away on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport.  
Stacy was born in Williamsport on August 18, 1961 to the late James C. Sweeting, Sr. and Shirley (Banks) Sweeting, who survives.  
Stacy was a hard worker every day of her life. She had a degree in accounting. Stacy loved football Sundays watching the Pittsburgh Steelers — her favorite team! She enjoyed and loved family time every Sunday with dinners and football.
Stacy just celebrated her 27th wedding anniversary on Jan. 9, 2024 with her husband George Way. They enjoyed 33 years together. She is a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend.


Stacy is survived by her mother, Shirley Sweeting; husband, George Way; two daughters, Felicia Bates and Tiona Bates-Webber; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, as well as her sister, Julia Smith.
Stacy was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley L. Conrad Kellum and Master Sergeant Juanita Sweeting, as well as her brother, James C. Sweeting, Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home at 500 West 4th Street, Williamsport, on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
