Obituary
Susan W. “Sue” Clair, 80, of State College passed away January 9, 2024 at home surrounded by family. She was born March 27, 1943 in Coopersburg, PA to the late William and Evelyn (Barette) Williams.
Sue was a graduate of Southern Lehigh Senior High School and went on to obtain her RN at Lankenau Nursing School in Philadelphia. On June 17, 1972 she married the late Dr. Gerald F. Clair, the love of her life.
Sue moved to State College in the mid-60’s and worked at Centre Community Hospital in the labor and delivery/surgical unit. She later worked for her husband as head nurse and office manager. The two welcomed a daughter, Amy, in 1974.
Sue and her husband played an integral part in the success of Lyn Lee Farms where they raised and showed Suffolk sheep nationwide. She also loved to read, planting flowers, watching her favorite show NCIS, her dogs Tut and Penny and her cat Shiloh and spending time with family.
Along with her parents and husband of 47 years Sue was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Dr. Phillip and Edythe (Zaconick) Clair. She is survived by her one and only daughter, Amy Bilyeu (Brad); 3 granddaughters, Chelsea and her fiancé Dalton Hall, Marissa and Jenna and 1 great-grandson, Kooper.
The family would like to thank AseraCare Hospice in Altoona along with her hospice nurse and hospice aide, Sarah and Sherrie; also her caregivers, Caroline, Fran, Patti, Peggy, Stacey, Shawna and Jess.
At Sue’s request all services are private at the convenience of the family.
