Obituary
Susanne Renee Hanks, age 49, passed away on April 6, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born on July 23, 1974, in Muncie, Indiana and was the daughter of Earl and Lynda Stoner.
Susanne had a love for animals and found immense joy in visiting the Indianapolis Zoo, where she could observe and connect with the creatures she adored. She pursued her passion for education with unwavering dedication, particularly in the realm of elementary school teaching. She found fulfillment in working with English as a second language and special needs children; embodying patience, kindness, and love in all that she did. A devoted mother, Susanne was a steadfast supporter of her children, encouraging them to pursue their dreams. Her strength, wisdom, and bravery were inspiring to all who knew her. She was a lover of learning and a copious reader. In her leisure time, Susanne enjoyed simple pleasures like watching movies, going for walks, and watching goslings grow up.
Susanne is survived by her parents, Earl and Lynda Stoner; her loving husband, Gregory Seib; her three children, Lauren Hanks, Madeline Hudson (husband Tyler), and Ben Hanks; brother, Shawn Stoner (wife Anne-Marie); sister, Stephanie Beard (husband Joshua); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Susanne was preceded in death by her sister, Christina Norman.
Susanne touched the lives of countless people with her warmth, her generosity, and her boundless love. Though she may be gone, her legacy will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who were touched by her presence.
Susanne’s family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Indianapolis Zoo in her honor.
