In Loving Memory of

Terry L. Childers

April 19th, 1956 - February 13th, 2024

Obituary

On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, our lives were forever changed when our father, husband, brother, papa and friend passed from this life surrounded by so many that loved him.

Terry L Childers – 68 was born on April 19, 1956, to the late John Fletcher and Callie Laverne Childers in Quincy, FL until April 23, 1974, Terry “ran away” to Donaldsonville, GA to marry his best friend and love of his life Lynda E. Childers where he built the life he loved and cherished in the Seffner Community for many years.

Terry gained his wings and was reunited with Lynda and his beloved ones, 1 brother, James Louis Childers and 2 sisters, Betty Childers and Jane Ross.

His memory will forever be cherished by his 2 sons, John Terry and Chris (Kimberly Hansen-Childers), 2 daughters Shawna and Laura (Johnny), 4 grandchildren Chris, Kelsi, Kaylee and Maddie, 2 great grandchildren Robert and Cason, 3 brothers Don, Billy, and Tommy. As well as many others he was known as Dad and Papa throughout the community.

Terry was a collector of guns and knives and he loved to be on the water with one of his many fishing poles with his family by his side. Terry was a crane operator, driver, mechanic, erector, dispatcher and GM for many crane companies though out the U.S. until he retired in 2023. Terry’s passion of operating a crane was an honor to him, he was so proud to drive a crane to an event, raise the American flag high and just sit there all day and watching it flow in the wind.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, March 3rd, 2024 @ 2pm at The Hillsborough Sheriff’s Lodge 108, 9001 Taylor Rd. Seffner, FL 33584
