Obituary
Tracy L. Moutevelis (née Griffith), age 56, of State College, died April 10, 2023 at Mount Nittany Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends. Born April 10, 1967 in New Haven, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Bill and Bonnie Griffith of Port Matilda, PA.
Tracy graduated from State College Area High School in 1985 and graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Individual and Family Studies from the College of Health and Human Development at The Pennsylvania State University in 1989.
Tracy enjoyed many summers as a “Counselor in Training” at Krislund Camp and established lifelong friendships with her fellow CIT’s. Her greatest joy was as a mother to her sons. Tracy supported them in all of their endeavors. She was the ultimate rugby team mom, providing support and coordinating countless details. Tracy embodied hospitality, she was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain family and friends at her home. If she was a guest in your home, she never came empty handed and always helped out. She was very kind with a generous heart and would go out of her way to help anyone. Tracy was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. She loved Penn State football and was a season ticket holder who enjoyed tailgates with family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Vassilis Demitri Moutevelis of Arlington, VA and Alexandros Konstantinos Moutevelis, of State College, PA and her precious dog Mila. She leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Tracy will be sorely missed and will live on in our hearts forever.
Tracy gave the ultimate gift of life as an organ donor. The family wishes to thank the staff from Mount Nittany Medical Center and The Gift of Life Donor Care Team for the kindness and compassion they gave to Tracy and her family. Tracy attended the Grays Woods Church in Port Matilda, PA and had a loving circle of friends in that community.
